commercial Lima Peru Urbi Propiedades
The new headquarters building for this leading financial institution in Peru is a 90 m tall high–rise situated on the loop of two highways in a dominant situation where 480.000 cars pass by per day. It comprises a helicopterlanding platform on the very top, office areas in two distinctly different volumes, an auditorium for 300 persons with wide foyers, a representative entrance hall and a branch bank, built on top of a monumental base containing five underground stories for parking and technical areas. An important criterion was the embedding of the sculptural form into the urbanistic pattern. The recognition of the prevailing grid pattern of the surrounding district on the one hand and the wide stretched curve of the retaining wall towards the loop of Javier Prado Avenue with Paseo de la Republica express way interchange, on the other, lead to a dialectic of shapes; the result is a building sculpture made up of a high–rise slab curving with the loop and a simple block of 26 meters height which levels in with the opposite office buildings in Carlos Villaran Street.
